William Sandberg to Sign ‘The Golden Codex’ at the 2026 Frankfurter Buchmesse

Explora Books will host a book signing with William Sandberg at the 2026 Frankfurter Buchmesse, held October 7–11 at Messe Frankfurt in Hessen, Germany.

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 1st Oct 2026 - Attendees are invited to visit Hall 4.2 M47 on October 9 at 1 p.m. to meet Sandberg and obtain signed copies of his metaphysical fantasy novel, The Golden Codex.

The story opens in a quiet South Vancouver antique shop. Jim Ralston returns after decades away to hear a warning from his old mentor: a secret syndicate he once escaped has asserted claim to his fourteen-year-old son, Piers, and only covert training can prepare the boy. Hired for odd jobs among the crates and clocks, Piers is quietly introduced to a system of knowledge that extends beyond ordinary perception. Then a mysterious golden artifact appears in the cellar and draws dangerous attention. Piers’s path leads from Vancouver to the ancient sacred sites of the Americas, where he must decide what he will become.

The novel brings the everyday and the mythic into the same narrative space. Grocery stores, school parking lots, and dusty back rooms sit alongside invented orbs, powerful beings, and Dirshani, a constructed language with its own greetings and oaths. Sandberg develops this world gradually, revealing its rules through puzzles, riddles, and games of transmutation. Readers piece the mystery together as Piers does. Beneath the adventure is a coming-of-age story in which Piers learns that freedom must be earned, and that the knowledge that can secure it comes at a price. The novel also examines identity and belief, including Jim Ralston’s tension between an inherited cosmology and his own skepticism.

William Sandberg is a Canadian writer whose work centers on fantasy and metaphysical fiction. His interest in stories of other worlds and hidden realities informs the imaginative framework of this novel.

The Golden Codex brings these themes together through a contemporary setting shaped by esoteric and mythological elements. The novel will be available at the Explora Books booth, Hall 4.2 M47, throughout the fair.

The Golden Codex is available through Amazon and other major online bookstores.
